Young people

Central has children and young people who enjoy coming to our church

For all enquiries regarding our children and young people’s ministry please contact Laura Braime, our children and family worker at: laypreacher@brighousecmc.org.

There is a wide range of activities for children and young people thought the week, including:

First steps

First steps is a register of all baptisms at Central, with babies and children staying within this remit until they are three, when they are welcomed into Junior Church.

Junior Church

Our children and young people split off into their own activities during the Sunday morning service. Children get involved in age-appropriate activities and discussions led by an experienced team of Sunday School teachers*.

JMA

Central has collectors raising money all the year round for Junior Missions for All. Why not take a box and join them!

Baby & Toddler Group

Held in the hall on Tuesday mornings there are over 20 babies and toddlers who regularly attend! A wonderful, yet noisy atmosphere – with Church members* helping with refreshments and setting up. New toddlers, mums, dads, grandparents, childminders are always welcome.

Explorer Scouts

Meet weekly at Central. Please contact Fiona Warburton on 07827669737 or visit the Brighouse Scout’s web site.

Christian Initiative in Calderdale Schools (CICS)

CICS is a Christian Trust responsible to and supported by local Churches and individuals in Calderdale. CICS supports Christian schools’ workers who offer help to schools to deliver the Christian message, take assemblies, hold lunchtime clubs, give lessons and have a presence in schools.

We want to keep our children safe. In order to help look after them well, all teachers and leaders within Central are trained to safeguarding level one. Those working directly with children have an up-to-date ‘Disclosure & Barring Service’ (formally ‘CRB’) check.
